"My Happiness" by Kyli Santiago -- Spoken Word Poetry
Talk to her. Maybe on youtube? Woke poetry. Not sure where to start but here it is…. I feel alone and hopeless. Why do people always want something from me or take advantage of me.
Previously covering both the sides of love, this section now focuses on poems about the dark side of love, heartbreak and the hurt caused by lost love. Happy love poetry now finds a home in the "upbeat poems" section. This category is reserved for love poems about troubled friendships and relationships and it's where poets offload emotional pain inflected by ex boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, husbands, family and friends. Which all begs the question, what is love anyway? Maybe you'll find out here.
Add to list. Three words masquerading as the universe That could not hold you Three words encompassing a world of emotion Meaningless without you Three words negated by the reality of your passing, In my sorrow stripped of significance I love you. As if my love legitimized your life As if my words intensified your illumination As if there was value in my validation Or you needed my adoration As if my devotion ever met your expectation Or the mere expression could excuse my inaction As if, as if you could still hear me mention I. Love you. Seems self-centered to me now.
Love Again. Sometimes I wish love worked like the movies,. The ones where our eyes meet from across the room,. The ones with orchestras.

POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Love is the most powerful force in the world. It has the power to inspire individuals to go to unheard of lengths to recapture love that was lost. Love also has the power to inspire poets and writers to put on paper the greatest masterpieces in existence. The greatest art formed throughout the centuries were formed in the name of love. Relationships have the potential to feel really good or really bad. When things are good, it is time to put pen to paper, close your eyes, and remember what inspired you to love in the first place. I want to be your favorite hello, And I want to be your hardest goodbye.
Writers have been trying to put love into several different perspectives. Whether it's a novel format or through sonnets, love has been a topic that writers have been trying to get perfectly right since the beginning of time. One form that I'm particularly fond of is spoken word poetry. Spoken word poetry is kind of like the baby of theatre and writing. A writer goes on stage and recites their work with conviction and emotion. It's truly a beautiful thing to watch, and I think this form of poetry really helps people catch onto poetry even if they weren't particularly interested in it before.
