Finding True Love: The 4 Essential Keys to Bring You the Love of Your Life by Daphne Rose Kingma

This is a very interesting book about how to open your heart to let room in for love. The four essential keys to discovering love in this book are Faith, Intention, Trust and Surrender. I think the hardest one for me is Surrender. It is hard for me to allow myself to be vulnerable and to let go, but that is the only way to be truly in love is to be open and vulnerable. It is scary. I dont want to be hurt. But I want to be in love. She has a lot of very good advice like understanding that each failed relationship taught me something to become who I am today and because of that they were each a gift and important to finding the true love that I long for.

Things that she mentions are to say Im going to surrender to love through some specific action. Yes, here are all the difficult, scary, and absolutely devastating things that could happen now that Im feeling so deeply connected. Because Im feeling such joy, I could feel the most devastating sorrow if I lost this. But in spite of that sad possibility, Im not going to let go of this love. In fact, Im going to hold on to it, cherish it, and enjoy it for every minute it lasts. I promise Ill tell you exactly what Im feeling, and I am willing to hear exactly what youre feeling as our experience together unfolds.

I dont know if I am quite there yet, but I after reading this book I am closer to being truly ready to truly love someone. I am not going to be afraid. I will enjoy the ride and graciously be thankful for every day and each new experience.

Most people who get divorced want to get into another relationship. Some dive directly into new relationships, barely pausing for breath. Others take their sweet time about it, and they wait until they feel completely ready for a new love. The period after a breakup is the perfect time for a little post-relationship debriefing with trusted friends. It's also a great time for some self-reflection about what you're looking for in a new relationship.

  1. Because most women find it hard to let go of baggage and often bring a fear of being hurt into new ones, The Power of Now is a must-read.

  2. Sometimes, feeling optimistic about love is as simple as surrounding yourself with heartwarming tales—and books are a great place to start.
